System of education in Germany

System of German education is considered to be as one of the best systems in the world, because it includes all necessary aspects, it means that it is comprehensive.

It is distinguished two kinds of German systems of education:

1. System of general education

2. System of vocational education.

First system has three stages: lower secondary school, secondary school and upper secondary school. Higher education in Germany is represented by universities and colleges. Also there are many universities with certain specializations, like technical ones, arts universities, theological universities etc.

The period of studies can be from 6 years till 8 years, certificates received after studies depend upon chosen subjects and results of studies.

As for second system of education, it is very popular in Germany and many students choose it. This system gives students the possibility to have practice at the companies and enterprises. So, in addition to studies that can use their knowledge in practice.

German system of education is also represented by state and public institutions which are called “Adult education”.

In general, whole system of education in Germany is under governmental control.

In recent times German educational establishments attract more and more students and during last two decade the number of foreign students increased twice.
