Surviving As a Foreign Student

1. The most problematic job for a foreign student is to adapt to new environment. It includes adaptation to new climatic conditions. Many students fail to do this, thus you must be mentally prepared for various cases you will experience. The following adaptation will be toward the work culture plus what is involved. Each place has its work culture, although most differ from a typical environment.
2. The following problem is to make a balance in life. This means to maintain equilibrium between studies, sports, various activities, meals and rest. The majority of students miss their recreational activities and meals, and certain absences can result in health problems. As you know, a sound mind is in a sound body, so you should attempt to support a balance between these parameters - keeping your mind and body active.
3. In addition, you need to hold a positive attitude. You must be optimistic and look at each situation positively. You should not let a case dishearten you, and if any, you should not cease hard work. Keep in mind that soon hard work is going to obtain its due reward.
4. You need to deal with your individual issues. Most of your time, things will not go as wanted. It is better to cope with any individual issues, which arise. You can a) consult the supervisor;
b) consult the doctor;
c) get the problem resolved by obtaining help from friends.
5. You need to know the system, by knowing the rules and regulations of the university. You cannot ignore them. Carefully read the schedules and calendar of the university, and get to know CGPA requirements, calculation method, your responsibilities and rights, and deadlines.
